We are pleased to announced the Spring school on Optimization and Algorithms
in Dynamic Environments, to take place at the Institute of Mathematics,
Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, Hanoi Feb 18th to Mar 1st 2019.
Organized by the Institute of Mathematics and supported by the South East
Asian Mathematical Society, the school is aimed at graduate students
interested in optimization algorithms in dynamically evolving environments.
OBJECTIVE
Introduction to the current concepts and mathematical approaches to the
design
of optimization algorithms in dynamically evolving environments. The aim of
this school is two-fold: covering basic concepts and presenting actual
research directions toward the goal of discovering the hidden geometry in
machine learning and in non-stochastic, non-stationary adversarial
settings.
COURSES
1. Christoph Dürr (Lip6, Sorbonne Université), Competitive analysis of
online
algorithms.
2. Nguyễn Việt Hưng (Lip6, Sorbonne Université), Introduction to Stochastic
Programming.
3. Nguyễn Kim Thắng (IBISC, University Evry Val d'Essonne) and Lê Hải Yến
(Institute of Mathematics), Online Learning/Online Convex Optimization.
