Research Staff Members (requisition number RES-0681729):
The Computational Science Center within the Data Centric Systems department at the IBM T. J. Watson Research Center seeks Research Staff Members for research and development of future High Performance Computing (HPC) and High Performance Analytics (HPA) systems, software and applications. The Computational Sciences Center works collaboratively with many leading HPC organizations around the world to carry out research and development in future exascale class systems for research, industrial, and commercial use. Responsibilities will include development, analysis, and optimization of compute and data intensive applications and workflows; development of novel algorithms to exploit these massive-scale systems; development of HPC/HPA system software including system and resource management and runtime for messaging; and collaboration in the co-design of processors, networks, and storage systems for optimal system performance. A Ph.D. in Computational Science or Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science or Engineering, Computational Physics, or a related field is required. Candidates should be familiar with HPC architectures and have a proven record of research and publications in high performance computing and its application for solutions of complex problems.

Postdoctoral Fellows (requisition number RES-0681748):
The Computational Science Center within the Data Centric Systems department at the IBM T. J. Watson Research Center seeks Postdoctoral Fellows for research and development of future High Performance Computing (HPC) and High Performance Analytics (HPA) systems and applications. The Computational Sciences Center works collaboratively with many leading HPC organizations around the world to carry out research and development of exascale class systems for research, industrial, and commercial use. Responsibilities will include research and development in the design and optimization of HPC/HPA and visualization algorithms, applications, and workflows; projection of performance on new system architectures; development of system software including system and resource management and runtime for messaging; and collaboration in the design of processors, networks, and storage systems for optimal system performance. A Ph.D. in Computational Science or Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science or Engineering, Computational Physics, or a related field is required. Candidates should have a strong knowledge of HPC/HPA architectures, parallel programming and performance profiling techniques to achieve high performance on these systems, and associated software and tools.
