GraphMasters Workshop
ITB Bandung
December 18-19, 2010

The aim of GraphMasters workshop is to bring together researchers in graph theory
and its applications at all levels (senior, junior, especially graduate students) to study
current problems of particularly theoretical and practical interests. This forum is informal
one, with no scheduled presentations and mainly devoted to new research resulting from
the interactions among the participants.

In the discussions, all participants will be divided into small groups to be able to share
a common interest in a problem. All participants are expected to actively take part
in finding ways in solving the problems. New joint-papers are expected to be the output
and new collaboration are the outcome.

All interested participants are welcome, around 20-35 participants are expected.
For registration, send an email to Edy Tri Baskoro (ebaskoro@math.itb.ac.id).

TOPICS
GraphMasters will take place at Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) Indonesia.
The main themes of the workshop include, but are not limited to:

Degree/Diameter Problems
Ramsey numbers
Cycles in Graphs
Graph labelling
Dimensions of graphs
Graph coloring
Algorithmic graph theory
Applications of graph theory in various fields.

PROGRAM
GraphMasters is an informal workshop in which the participants are free to
interact with each other or to form new research groups.
A schedule is given only as a starting point for morning/afternoon
sessions.

This schedule usually takes the form of participants volunteering to
briefly explain a topic or problem that they are interested in or stuck on!
And usually this attracts a spontaneous group of collaborators to tackle
the problem!

Dear all,

Barangkali teman2 ada yg berminat apply.

----

ICTP has created the Ramanujan Prize for young mathematicians from developing countries. The Prize is funded by the Niels Henrik Abel Memorial Fund.

The Prize is awarded annually to a researcher from a developing country less than 45 years of age on 31 December of the year of the award, who has conducted outstanding research in a developing country. Researchers working in any branch of the mathematical sciences are eligible. The Prize carries a $15,000 cash award and travel and subsistence allowance to visit ICTP for a meeting where the Prize winner will be required to deliver a lecture. The Prize is usually  awarded to one person, but may be shared equally among recipients who have contributed to the same body of work.

ICTP awards the prize through a selection committee of five eminent mathematicians appointed in conjunction with theInternational Mathematical Union (IMU). The first winner was announced in 2005.

The deadline for receipt of nominations for the 2010 Prize has been extended to 30 October 2010.

Please send nominations to director@ictp.it describing the work of the nominee in adequate detail. Two supporting letters should also be arranged.
